OVERVIEW: Hasbro, Inc. is conducting a TRANSFORMERS “More Than Meets The Eye” costume contest on Saturday, September 24, 2005 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Frisco, TX, site of BotCon 2005, the annual International TRANSFORMERS Collectors’ Convention.  All fans are invited to come dressed as their favorite TRANSFORMERS characters – for example, but not limited to, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Grimlock, etc. 

A panel of Hasbro-appointed judges will pick the best, most authentic TRANSFORMERS costumes [see “JUDGING” below].  Three (3) winners will receive prizes (1st place prize, 2nd place prize and 3rd place prize) [see “PRIZES” below].

ELIGIBILITY: Contest is open to legal U.S. residents residing in one of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia.  Employees or directors of Hasbro, Inc. and Bratskeir & Company, Inc., and each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, and agents (collectively "Sponsors") and their immediate family members (parents, children, siblings, spouse) or persons living in the same households of each (whether related or not) are not eligible. All entrants (or parents/legal guardians, if minor) must complete and Official Entry and Release Form to be eligible.  Forms can be found on the www.botcon.com website and once completed must be faxed to 212-982-5401 or emailed to wjoong@bratskeir.com.  Entrants may also register at BotCon 2005 at the Hasbro booth.

JUDGING: The contest will begin promptly at 11:00AM in the Frisco Grand Ballroom of the Embassy Suites Frisco Hotel but entrants must be fully dressed in costume by 10:30AM.  The costumes of entrants meeting eligibility criteria will be judged in the following categories:

• authenticity;
• attention to detail;
• complexity;
• visual appeal/vibrance.

Judges will assign a score of up to 25 points (from 1-lowest to 25-highest) in each category, for a maximum total of 100 pointsfor each costume.  In the event of a tie, judges will deliberate and choose one winner from among all highest scoring entries.  All judges’ decisions will be final.  Winners will be selected by a panel of judges named by Hasbro, Inc. The panel will solely consist of employees and/or representatives of the contest’s Sponsors. By accepting a prize, each winner (or winner's parent/legal guardian, if winner is a minor) consents to the Sponsors' use, publication and display of the winner's name, city or town of residence, likeness, video image and photograph, for advertising/marketing/publicity or other purposes, including posting on Hasbro's Internet web site addresses (including www.transformers.com and www.hasbro.com), without notice or additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. If a prize is won by a minor, the prize will be awarded to the winner's parent or legal guardian on the minor's behalf.

PRIZES: Three (3) prizes will be awarded.  The first place winner (the individual with the highest score) in each category will receive $300 in show dollars that can be spent at the BotCon 2005 convention and a $300 gift certificate to Hasbro’s online store, www.hasbrotoyshop.com (First Place ARV: $600.00); the second place winner (the individual with the second highest score) in each category will receive $150 in show dollars that can be spent at the BotCon 2005 convention and a $150 gift certificate to Hasbro’s online store, www.hasbrotoyshop.com (Second Place ARV: $300.00); and the third place winner (the individual with the third highest score) in each category will receive $75 in show dollars that can be spent at the BotCon 2005 convention and a $75 gift certificate to Hasbro’s online store, www.hasbrotoyshop.com (Third Place ARV: $150.00). The total ARV of all prizes is $1,050.00.

All prizes are non-transferable. If any prize is unavailable for any reason, the Sponsors reserve the right in their sole discretion to substitute another prize of equal value.

GENERAL: This contest is governed by the laws of the United States, and all claims must be resolved in the federal or state courts of the United States. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. By entering, each entrant (or entrant's parent or legal guardian, if entrant is a minor): (1) agrees to be bound by these official rules; (2) agrees to accept as final all decisions of the Sponsors and/or judges regarding this promotion; and (3) releases and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Sponsors and their agents and their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, agents, and shareholders, from and against any and all claims, causes of action, demands, injuries, losses or liabilities of any nature whatsoever including but not limited to liability for any personal injury which may result, directly or indirectly in whole or part from entrant's participation in the contest or with respect to the awarding, receipt, possession, use and/or misuse of any prize. All taxes (if any) are the winner's sole responsibility. The Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who the Sponsors determine has tampered with the promotion or who has engaged in any fraudulent conduct; and the Sponsors may prosecute such individual to the full extent permitted by law. Each Official Entry and Release Form submitted as well as photographs and videotape taken by the Sponsors during the contest becomes the property of the Sponsors. As set forth in the Entry and Release Form, each entrant's participation in the contest constitutes good and valuable consideration for the assignment of all rights of the entrant (or entrant's parent/legal guardian, if minor) including but not limited to the right of the Sponsors to use, publish, and display the entrants’ names, likenesses, photographs and videotape taken by the Sponsors during the contest for advertising/marketing/public relations purposes, including use and posting on Hasbro's Internet web site addresses (including www.transformers.com and www.hasbro.com). The Sponsors and their agents are not responsible for electrical, mechanical, or other technical malfunctions, or other errors of any kind relative to contest participation. Sponsors reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any entrant whose costume includes profane, obscene or otherwise inappropriate material, or if an entrant otherwise violates these official rules.

WINNER LIST:  The name of the winner(s), his/her city/state of residence, and his/her likenesses will be posted on Hasbro's Internet web site addresses (including www.transformers.com and www.hasbro.com and at www.botcon.com).
